SPF in Winter

Many people don't realise but you still need to wear SPF on your face in Winter. UVA is responsible for most of the aging process of the skin as it causes damage to the integral proteins that give the skin its strength, elasticity and plumpness. Regardless of the time of the day or season, UVA is present and can penetrate cloud cover. To protect the skin, sunscreens should be worn everyday. Sunscreen is the best anti-aging product you can invest in, we recommend SPF 30-50. 

The difference between straight-up sunscreen or a tinted moisturiser enriched with SPF is an individual preference, depending on your skin type but the most important thing is that you have it on. So for any product you buy in the future think SPF.......Sun Protection Factor or Skin Plump and Flawless!

Here are a few tried & tested products.......   

Try our  Fuschia Tinted moisturiser with a built-in SPF because it is a foundation, sunscreen (SPF 20), moisturiser and anti-oxidant all in one. Other great formulations are Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture SPF15, or Lancome Hydra Zen Teinte. Most mineral make-up contains an SPF, and although they're light, they can be great skin protection.

For day creams, try our own USPA Organic Sun Defence SPF 20 with Rose Oil, Lavender Oil, and Vitamin E to help soothe and nourish the skin. Other great sun blocks are Clinique Superdefense SPF25 Age Defence Moisturiser, a reliable product at a fair price. Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Luminescence Moisturizing Fluid SPF30 is great for dehydrated skin. Boots No7 Brightening Day Cream SPF30, takes a while to sink in, but provides a lovely, smooth base for make-up and a hefty SPF.

And don't forget your lips and hands, often neglected but a dead giveaway, regardless of your flawless complexion!
