Wax On, Wax Off!

One good thing about the cold weather is you can get away with being all wrapped up and no one can see what’s underneath all those layers. Spring is well and truly on its way with the brighter mornings and evenings and the rising temperatures it won’t be long until we are peeling off our layers. So what better time to get back into the body routine with a bang! In some countries body hair is adored with women preferring to go au natural but most of us here prefer to be hair free and to have it removed.
Waxing is without a doubt one of the most popular ways of hair removal, particularly if you have been letting your hair grow over the last month. Ideally hair should be 2 centimetres for waxing so skip shaving a couple of weeks before waxing. I usually find myself booking in for the whole shebang when making a waxing appointment, just to get it all done in the one time. Waxing has come on so much over the last few years with such good quality wax and techniques, it’s quick, non messy and will last 4-6weeks! With a choice of hot wax and cool wax to suit fine – coarse hair all parts of the body can be treated. Wax removes hair from the root which is why the results last so long compared to shaving which only removes hair from the surface of the skin. Overtime waxing has its advantages; new hair will become thinner, softer and lighter as the follicle becomes weaker with prolonged treatment. The skin is also exfoliated when the hairs are removed, leaving a fresh glow to the skin.
Avoid swimming, hot showers, friction on the area, cosmetics/makeup on the waxed area and sunbathing 24 hours after a waxing appointment.
So with the gym sessions finally starting to show some results, and with smooth, hair free skin all I need to do now is sit back and wait for the warm weather to arrive!
